WATAUGA LAKE

Very few mountain communities are fortunate to have lake access. Watauga Lake, a scenic 12-mile drive from RedTail Mountain, is the future home to the private RedTail Pavilion, boathouse and day docks, exclusive to homeowners and guests. The Pavilion will offer a full kitchen and an open entertaining area for property owner gatherings or quiet celebrations.  At the water's edge, the boathouse will feature an enclosed area, a rooftop screened room for wonderful sunset views, and storage for kayaks and canoes.

Aptly named, "Watauga" translates to 'beautiful waters' in Native American. Ranked as the third cleanest lake in America, Watauga Lake is arguably the most scenic lake in the Tennessee River Watershed. Anglers marvel at the crystal waters and delight in the many species of game fish including rainbow and brown trout, walleye, smallmouth and largemouth Bass. A full array of recreational activities awaits you at Watauga Lake including fishing, boating, swimming, water sports, hiking, and horseback riding.
