Sam Adams Golf Academy officially opens July 4
with focus on junior golfers

JULY 2, 2007 MOUNTAIN CITY, TN Young golfers will now have a chance to learn from the pros as RedTail Mountain officially opens the Sam Adams Golf Academy on July 4. Boone native Sam Adams, winner of the Quad Cities Open during the 1973 PGA Tour, and Joshua McWhorter, a certified Class A PGA professional and Division 1 college golf coach, will offer professional instruction for junior golfers, as well as adults.

"We're excited about introducing younger golfers to the sport, as well as helping adults," said Adams. This is not a 'formula school.' We tailor the instruction to the golfer, working with them at every skill level. Whether you are new to the game, or an accomplished player, we will help you improve your golfing skills."

"Junior golfers can really benefit from the clinics at RedTail Mountain" said Adams. "In addition to the professional instruction they receive, we have the option of videotaping them and then letting players watch themselves. That's very helpful in giving them feedback that will help them improve and correct any bad habits."

The academy will focus on improving short-game and shot-making skills, as well as scoring strategies and golf etiquette.  Group instruction and one-on-one instruction will be offered, in addition to the clinics.
