Johnson County Airport is located adjacent to RedTail Mountain in Mountain City, TN. Known as FAA identifier 6A4 and recently awarded the first runner up award for "Most Improved Airport in Tennessee" by the State of Tennessee Aeronautics Commission, the facility is home to the area's only 4,500 ft. runway. Operators Bob and Cindy Johnson have been managing the facility for nearly three years and are happy to assist with gas, hangar or tie down requests. Transportation to and from RedTail Mountain is available upon request.
